Timeline
- Today (20th): Final project kick-off!
- This lecture and finalizing what to work on
- Four weeks (Mar 27th, Apr 3rd, 10th, 17th) of “lab/project time”
- Final presentation (w/o Apr 20th, exact date/time TBD)
Final Project Goals
- Demonstrate concepts learned during the semester
- Potentially expand on these concepts and learn something new
- Build something you have a strong interest in
- Build something for your portfolio
- Practice presenting your project in front of peers and faculty
Final Project Grading
- Final Project: 60% of grade
- Integration of AI Models: 10%
- Functionality: 10%
- Innovation and Creativity: 10%
- Ethical Analysis: 10%
- Presentation: 20%
Lab Time
- Same time and place (Curie, Fridays. 2pm - 4.50pm)
- I’ll be here to:
- Check-in
- Offer advice
- Help troubleshoot / remove blockers
- Adhoc talks/whiteboarding on topics
- Apr 3rd: Presentation Skills (45 mins)
Final Presentation
- Time and place still TBD (w/o Apr 20th)
- Peers plus some CS faculty
- Potentially a guest judge or two :)
- Plan for 15 min presentation/demo + 5 min Q&A

First Step: Project Brief
- What is this?
- A half-page document on what you plan to create
- Why? Avoid creating something too simple (that doesn’t score well) or too difficult (that you can’t complete in time)
- I’d recommend completing before next week
- Non-graded assignment
- Talk through in-class - or send via Teams
- I’ll provide feedback on complexity, time estimate, and links to other projects that might be useful
